I might get dishonor and that isn't worth it to me, I want to keep on playing. On top I'm most of the time busy focusing on the game that's being played.
Also when people have to play the police over other players instead of GM's keeping an eye on things, is where it goes wrong imo.

Guess Anet hasn't been reading the forums lately. Otherwise they don't give us a "bots and leechers get double faction reward weekend".

This one gets special treatment from me. Everytime I see him, I write a ticket on PlayNC’s support site. This bot has been around for months and is very well known among other FA players.
I'm sure it won't change anything, but at least I can bother some GM since they don't care about the ingame report system.

I saw him today, he's a me/rt named I Lost My Wife, or something like that.
Leechers are at the point where they start ruining the fun for everyone.

I report whenever I see leechers. If I am w/ guildies or friends (thanks to excellent countdown tactics), you can bet your rear that every leecher will get reported too by everyone of us. That said, I have seen matches with 4+ leechers and those leechers, after being reported, started reporting the people who were actually playing the game.
Now, if I am alone, I report and simply leave the match. Playing to help a leecher gain factions is idiocy and much more painful than getting the stupid dishonorable hex.
** Not even gonna wonder about what may happen in JQ & FA this weekend.

Hmmm....should I report with 7 leechers on my team? This is such a difficult question!

Ok so Fort Aspenwood is a total mess and they're promoting it, along with Jade Quarry, in a weekend event.
Reporting a leecher awards the suspect 2 dishonor points and they need 10 to recieve the Dishonorable Hex however when there are only 4 active players on your side, you can't successfully apply that hex to leechers in one round [warning: big image]:
This is also weakened by the number of people who don't understand the /report system and how it works, people who prematurely quit and 'nearest ally' follow bots who often go undetected because they're actively moving around the map (although contributing nothing other than minion fodder).
The funny thing is I'm typing the post right now because *I* have somehow acquired the Dishonorable Hex. I didn't leech or bot (I'd never defend myself if I did) and I didn't see anybody label my character name as a leecher in the chat window. I also never left a game before the end.

So this is why I will no longer /report. I can't control the apathy of other teammates; or they may also be trying to keep their slate clean by not risking /reporting.
Flaws, flaws, flaws.
I'm aware of the strong counter arguments to my complaints. I believe they are:
- "lol guild wars"
- "It's FA, nobody cares"
- "lern2play"
...and while they are compelling claims, I enjoy Fort Asswood when it's played properly despite having one side of my face all red and swollen because of extreme /facepalming at Defy Pain tanks and Vigorous Spirit Assassins.
Can we have some staff presence please or some way of interacting with customer support without tickets and automated responses? If Gaile can come to Spamadan over tonic noise grievances, surely a member of the team can work their way to JQ+FA.
~
Also, not to hijack the thread, but please change the FA map so that rangers can't solo Amber Mines from the Kurzick Base with a Flatbow/Longbow. The rangers also cause turtles to become stuck as the turtles fruitlessly try to nuke them but inevitibley miss because of the giant wall. The rangers with Purge Signet, Troll Unguent and spacial awareness can halt proceedings for an entire game. QQ
HAVE FUN!

I've never reported anyone, never been reported, never leeched either.
The report system is designed to get those who report leechers into trouble from what I can see. Reported leechers do not seem to get banned.
I've played Fort Aspenwood since it came into existence. Back in those early days, there was a leecher always there 24/7 it seemed. Everyone else cursed him. I began giving him a friendly wave and an occasional friendly whisper. Presently, we began to chat.
This leecher had been plying his trade for 5 months at the time. Friendly fellow. College student. He had made an enormous amount from selling amber, and made a respectable amount of real money along the way ... somehow. I asked him if ANet had ever contacted him. He said they had, he had told them what he was doing. They told him they wished he would play the game, but otherwise took no action against him. Go figure.
Well, this is double points at Competitive Missions weekend. Will ANet step in to control leeching at least for a couple of days? I hope so, but I'm not counting on it.

Everyone at Anet already knows about the massive leechers/botters issue. But none of them will give a flying ****. So, why even bother when you just can't win?

Anyhow, back on topic. I only report leechers if someone else on my team reports them first, that way I won't get dishonor hex.

This certain Mes/Rt bot already has R12 kurzick, has an alt that was one of the original MM griefers with a certain NAME, and is now botting on the Lux side. And Anet's logic: let's give them DOUBLE faction! GG Anet. Fail.

You seem to be forgetting that this weekend event, along with almost every other weekend event, is chock full of noobs. This might explain why they don't know how to report.

I generally report whenever I see someone leeching or botting. It's just that nothing ever really happens, I have never gotten dishonor myself. IMO, Anet should just let people with potential GMing skills sign up to be some sort of volunteer GM that can somehow take care of botters/leechers. Don't ask me how, it just seems like a good idea.

3 or more reports and you don't get win reward points anymore. I think they have introduced that now.

That's right.
But this system doesn't compensate the other players who missed out on potential faction and/or a potential victory as a result of one or more inactive members of the team.
These missions need tougher GM intervention because the /report system clearly isn't having the desired result. Then again, some people will just claim they had emergency diarrhea and couldn't participate as a result. What to do? :S

I agree. Report system purely sux. People still don't report correctly. And, after 5 matches, I got auto-dishonored and then 6th or 7th one got me another. Gave up now.
GM intervention with Town or Outpost lockout is the way to go. Auto dishonor is stupid. Also you don't get factions if NPCs you attack die when you are dead, that prompted less bombers and more leechers. What a nice way to respond to people's QQing abt JQ bombers!
Ok.. raging is a better option than trying to report. 5 dishonor points for rage. 2 for reporting leechers and then with the possibility of getting reported by the leecher its 2 points. And sometimes, others chime in too. So, that can go above 6 points or so. Best is to just leave the match and join another.
